Privacy

Effective 22 September 2026.

Fomospin has no accounts, no sign-up and no wallet connection. Taking part is automatic: when a fomo account posts a qualifying $FOMOSPIN thesis during an open round, we process public information about that fomo account, and basic technical data such as your IP address. Entries, theses, winners and payouts are part of the public round record. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics services.

Information we process

Information you give us. The only thing you can type on the site is the optional username in Find my entry. It is kept only in your browser’s local storage so the lookup survives a reload, and it is never sent to us.

Information from fomo. For each account that takes part we read public information from fomo: the account identifier and display handle, the text, time and identifier of its $FOMOSPIN posts during the round, its avatar image, the payout address linked to the account, and the value of its $FOMOSPIN position when its thesis is detected and when entries close. We may keep a cached copy of the avatar image to display it on the board.

Information collected automatically. Your IP address and standard request data (time, path, browser type) when you use the site or the API. IP addresses are used for rate limiting and are held in memory for up to one minute; standard server logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging.

How we use it

We use this information to run rounds: to check eligibility, record entries, run and publish draws, pay winners and show results. We also use it to prevent abuse (such as automated entries and rate-limit evasion), to keep the service working, to respond to your messages, and to meet legal obligations. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in running a fair and secure game and on performing the service you ask for when you enter.

What is public

Fomospin is a public game. The following are shown on the site and returned by the public API for every round: the display handle and entry number of each entry, the text of each entry’s thesis, whether an entry was removed, the winning entry, the pot and payout status, the payout destination address, and the verification record (seed commitment, locked entry list with handles and entry identifiers, seed and selected position). Verification records are what let anyone check that a draw was fair, so they are kept as the permanent record of each round.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores a small amount of data so the game works smoothly:

• Preferences: Theme, sound and reduced-motion settings (local storage), plus a sidebar_state cookie that remembers whether the sidebar is collapsed (kept for one year).
• Your lookup: The username you last typed into Find my entry, so the result survives a reload (local storage). It is never sent to us.

You can clear this data at any time through your browser’s site settings.

Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the infrastructure providers that host and deliver the service, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Fomospin and its players. The public fomo data we read is governed by fomo’s own privacy policy.

Retention

Round records, including entries, theses, winners, payouts and verification records, are kept for as long as Fomospin operates, because they are the public proof of each draw. Rate-limit data is discarded within a minute. Server logs and cached avatar images are kept only for a limited period.

Your choices and rights

You choose whether to take part; posting a qualifying thesis during an open round publishes your handle and thesis as described above. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time. We can redact the text of a thesis shown on the site. Because the locked entry list is what proves a completed draw, we cannot remove a handle from a completed round’s verification record. If a card for your account appears in a round you did not intend to join, contact us and we will look into it.

Security

Traffic to fomospin.app is encrypted, the round engine is only reachable through our servers, and payout addresses are taken from fomo rather than entered on the site. No online service can promise perfect security, so please tell us promptly if you notice a problem.

Children

Fomospin is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be made visible on the site before they take effect.
